The Georgian Era covers over 100 years, from 1714-1830. Unfortunately, Georgian jewelry is quite rare. Most jewelry we find today has been taken apart or modified to reflect the trends that were happening during the time, so most Georgian jewelry didn’t survive into modern times intact.

How to know if your type is Georgian:

1. You’re not afraid to stand out from the crowd. You’re likely to love Georgian rings if you’re looking for a distinct ring that no one else has. The stones used in Georgian rings were never cut specifically for the ring; they were always used as-is, making no two rings quite the same.
2. You’re a little non-traditional. You would never be caught wearing a ring that could be considered plain, dainty, or “cute”. Georgian rings are often roughly cut and often include floral, bow, or scroll motifs – no simple solitaires here.
3. You’re a romantic. The Georgian period is famous for the emergence of poets like William Blake, John Keats, and Lord Byron. This feeling was captured in jewelry with beautiful, complicated designs.
4. You have expensive taste. One of the most famous women from the Georgian period is Marie Antoinette – she had her cake and ate it too.
5. You’re a little anti-establishment. Radical social change was a huge part of the Georgian era. If you’re commonly known to stand up for what you believe in and voice your opinions openly, Georgian might be your perfect era.
